RIYADH (AFP) - Newly crowned Saudi King Abdullah has allocated 1.25 billion dollars for expansion work at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, Islam's second holiest site, official media said.

Abdullah, who acceded to the throne of the oil-rich kingdom after the death of his half-brother King Fahd on August 1, ordered that the expansion work started at the holy place be completed at a cost of 4.7 billion riyals.

The work includes the construction of courtyards, roads, car parks and tunnels.

Under king Fahd, who became monarch in 1982, Saudi Arabia spent more than 100 billion riyals (around 27 billion dollars) on expanding and upgrading Islam's holiest sites in Mecca and Medina to accommodate millions of worshippers and pilgrims.

Rania El-Baz

“I’m satisfied with the episode, I don’t think that Oprah and her producers were mistaken,” said Rania. “I think we are too sensitive about anyone criticizing us and this is our problem. Oprah has presented many episodes before on abused women in the US and other parts of the world. The US is more advanced than us in terms of human rights. Yes, they have higher rates of crime but they accept criticism. Those of us who have traveled to the US, studied there or worked there, know that the American people are very warm and friendly and not biased, so we should not make judgments of people just because we don’t agree with their government’s policies.”

ok i respect ppl's opinions...and i think that Rania is saying a bit of the truth but I HATE THIS WOMEN MN KOL GALBI...inno she made all the world or at least the ppl who saw the show think that all saudi women get abused by their husbands...shwahat som3at ilso3diyat o jayia tegool Oprah is not mistaken...

sorry for anyone who likes Rania Al-Baz or think she is right but this is my opinion and i hate her...
